Other short courses

LCQ From the April 1 2006 all current holders of a General Manager’s Certificate, and all new applicants, will need to hold the nationally recognised Licence Controller Qualification. This resource covers the Sale of Liquor Act, Host Responsibility, and also the application of skills for a Licence Controller.

The units gained from this package can be used to apply for the Licence Controller Qualification.

  • 4646 Demonstrate knowledge of the Sale of Liquor Act 1989 and implications for the operation of licensed premises
  • 16705 Demonstrate knowledge of host responsibility requirements as a duty manager of licensed premises

Students must be over 18 to do this course.

You can do one or all of the above units as you wish but to gain the HSI Certificate of Achievement you must achieve competency in all the required units.

Many of the above units are credits towards full nationally recognised qualifications.

If you currently hold a General Managers Certificate but NOT the Licence Controller Qualification (LCQ) unit standards 16705 and 4646 then you can still sit just the transition test however this option expires March 2008! Contact us now if you require this option. You will need to show proof of having a current Managers Licence to do this option.
